Good news! Good news! and more good news!!!
We have another hairdresser who has volunteered to help out on May 24th. That makes 4 hairdressers! We have 35 hair donors so far 23 of which will be joining Kimberly on May 24th! Our team has raised over $6000 for the Canadian Cancer Society! The “Catherine’s Pretty Ponytails 2″ team is #4 in ALL OF ONTARIO for on-line team fundraisers for the Canadian Cancer Society! I am so proud of my girls and all the wonderful people who have joined our team. We rock!!!! Congratulations to you and keep it up!!!

To the amazing people who donated their hair!!!
I can’t believe how many young girls, young ladies and adults gave their hair for this campaign and for those who have lost their hair to cancer! What a generous group of people! You should be so proud of what you have done! Unless you know someone who has received a wig you will probably never know what a personal and cherished gift this is…I am so proud of you girls and women and I am so glad to have met you all.
You all had a story to tell and I valued every one of them. Congratulations and I bet you would like to know the total……46 hair donations!!!
Thank you all so much on behalf of Catherine and myself (Catherine’s mom-Sharon) and the people who will receive these beautiful wigs given with so much compassion and selflessness. It is truly incredible.
Keep looking in The Star there should be an article in there next week!

What you must know if donating hair:
The hair has to be a minimum of 8″ (20.5 c.m.) long for adult wigs and 10″ ( 25 c.m.) for childrens’ wigs and it must be untreated (not coloured, bleached or permed) .
If you are donating for an ADULT wig it can be coloured with vegetable dyes, rinses and semi-permanent dyes.
Wavy/curly hair texture can be donated-you may straighten your hair to mesure.
Hair cannot have more than 5% grey.
The hair must have no products (gel, hairspray, etc.) in it and must be completely dry. It must be in a ponytail (preferably with elastic at top and in the middle) or a braid. Loose hair or hair swept up can not be used.
If you want to cut it with us on June 22nd from 1-3 p.m.the haircuts and styling will be free at Regal Hair Design (2208 St-Joseph in Orleans, Ontario) but you should contact us so we can plan/schedule the event. The hairdressers will put your hair in ponytails if you want to come to event with hair loose.
If you want to cut your hair to donate but can’t be with us it should be kept in the ponytail/braid and put in a ziploc bag to send off to your local wig manufacturer.

Thank you, Regal Hair Design!
I am so grateful to Jody Sara the owner of Regal Hair Design and her team for their generous donation of time and four hairdressers to help make Catherine’s event a success. They have a gorgeous little salon at 2208 St Joseph Blvd in Orleans.

It may look deceptively small from the outside, but inside…
Well just take a look at this photo:

We are going to be sitting in comfort and style on the day of the event!
And Jody herself is something special! Catherine met her last friday, and Jody definitely made an impression. When we got home, Catherine announced that from now on, only Jody is allowed anywhere near Catherine’s head. Sorry, Dad, your services will no longer be required.
There is no doubt we will come out of there feeling great on the inside and looking great on the outside. Jody, you are an angel for offering up your salon, your staff, and your lovable self to help make Catherine’s birthday wish come true. A million “thank yous” could never be enough.
